We have just purchased a group of King George VI Silver Threepences from New Zealand, all were issued during World War II. This was the furthest part of the British Empire at the time and these coins must have had a heck of journey to get to New Zealand. All coins are in Fine condition and were issued between 1940 and 1946.
Each of these beautifully silvered 100 Shillings was issued in 2010. On one side they have the arms of Uganda and on the reverse a full colour photo of a Man Eating Bear! We had never even seen these coins until Phil bought this small group. They are extra big, look like solid silver but in fact are silver plated. Each comes in a large sized protective capsule, so you can see both sides of the coin. You get the Polar Bear, Grizzly Bear and Black Bear, which we think is the complete set. These are so large and beautiful that when you lay them out together it is most impressive. You can own all three extra large silvered crowns for the special price of just £26.95 the three. At this price we hope you are impressed, Britain’s Coin Shop has done it again.
In 1932 Sweden issued a commemorative 2 Kronor for the 300th anniversary of the death of Gustaf I, 1632-1932. It is a handsome silver piece with the bust of Gustaf I facing right wearing a laurel wreath. The other side has a very ornate cartouche and a rather gothic style. Nice coin and in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, which considering that they are now 87 years old is quite amazing!

From the Bank of Uganda we offer this large sized 100 Shillings issued in 2010 as part of their Man Eaters Series. On one side is a full colour picture of an Anaconda and on the reverse is the coat of arms of Uganda, an animal and a bird holding up a native shield with spears. The dealer who originally bought these 100 Shillings thought that they were silver, when in fact they are just heavily silver plated. They are in Proof condition in a protective capsule. The price is more than right and the last Anaconda was in the Peruvian Amazon.
In 1916 the United States Mint changed over from the Barber Quarter to the Liberty Standing Quarter. Unfortunately, the designer used a more European model of Liberty with one of her breasts exposed. It caused a scandal and uproar. After all, you couldn’t have bare breasts being shown on your coins. After all, no one had ever seen a bare breast, unless they were feeding their child or you had seen classical sculpture or painting or you had … So in 1917 this design was changed and the offending breast was covered up. The Standing Liberty Quarter was issued until 1930. All of our coins are of the non offending kind, mainly because they are better value. All coins are in Fine condition and it is one of America’s most beautiful silver coins. Dates will be of our choice, but all coins are nice examples in Fine condition and struck in .900 fine Silver.
In 1988 the United States Mint issued a Special Silver Dollar for the Summer Olympics, held in Seoul, South Korea. In 1983 and 1984 the Mint issued Silver Dollars for the Los Angeles Olympics. This one is a little more difficult to find. You have the Olympic Torch lighting the torch from the Statue of Liberty. The other side has the Olympic rings, the value, and the United States of America. They are struck in 900 fine Silver and are in Proof condition. Now 30 years old and not all that easy to find and they do look quite handsome in Proof condition.
This American Silver Dollar was named after its British engraver, George T. Morgan. The Morgan Dollar was first made in 1878 and last made in 1904. Then in 1921 for some reason, they got the old dies out, made them look a bit more modern, and struck another Morgan Silver Dollar. The last Morgan dollar… Until last year when they issued a 2021 Morgan Dollar and the price skyrocketed. Now they say that they cannot get enough blanks and this year’s issue is canceled! It all sounds a bit crazy, so we looked around and found out we had some of the original the 1921 Silver Morgan Dollar, the one-year type. These are nice large silver coins and are now 101 years old, offered in Extremely fine condition. Don't miss out, get one for your collection.
The Morgan silver dollar is named after its British engraver George Morgan. They stopped making them in 1904, but for some reason they made them again in 1921, the same year they made the Peace Dollar for the first time. The 1921 Morgan Silver Dollars are very different than the previous issue. The relief is much lower and even from a distance, you can quickly see the difference. They are struck in 900 fine silver and as stated are a one-year-only type coin. They are the last ever Morgan Silver Dollar. On offer here is a circulated example of this one-year type coin.
The Kennedy Half Dollar was issued for the first time in 1964, just after the 22nd of November 1963, the date of his assassination. They still make these coins today, but not usually for circulation. They have made them at different Mints; this one is from Philadelphia and as such has no mintmark. These coins are struck in base metal and are in Uncirculated condition. If you are missing any of these dates, now is your chance to add them to your collection. This one is from 1974.
In 1976 the United States celebrated its 200th anniversary of freedom from this country. It is called their Bicentennial and they issued 3 special coins to honour this event. This is the largest coin of three, the Proof Silver Dollar. The obverse shows Ike Eisenhower with two different dates 1776 – 1976. The reverse shows the moon with the Liberty Bell. These silver dollars are brilliant proof and they were struck only in 1976. We think it is both a beautiful silver proof silver dollar and also very reasonably priced. But supplies are limited, and it has been some time since we were last able to offer them.

The Kennedy half dollar is one of the most popular modern American coins, it is also the largest coin in general circulation. It was first struck in 1964 to commemorate the assignation of President Kennedy in 1963. They are still struck today but they are no longer really in everyday usage, they are struck for collectors. Here we offer the 1986 issue in Proof. Kennedy half dollars are very collectable and you should add one or more to your collection.
