Charles III 2024 Silver 1/10 Britannia_obv

Charles III 2024 Silver 1/10 Britannia

The smallest silver coin issued by the Royal Mint is the 1/10th Britannia, containing one tenth of an ounce of pure silver. Under the late Queen Elizabeth II, they only issued it once in uncirculated condition and that was in 2006. They have just released the first ever 1/10th Britannia for King Charles III dated 2024. This coin has a nominal face value of 20 Pence and they are in Prooflike Uncirculated condition. Just in from the Silvertowne Mint in Indiana, USA, is this 1/10 ounce 9999 fine silver round which pays tribute to the famous ‘Buffalo’ Nickel coin which was struck between 1913 and 1938, although curiously, the animal on the coin is actually a bison! The original coins are also referred to as the ‘Indian Head’ Nickel but these days we use the term ‘Native American’. The combination of the two designs made this coin one of the most striking and popular designs on American coinage. These are beautiful frosted proof-like Brilliant Uncirculated silver rounds but we only have 100 available.
