February brought our collectors some very exciting news! If you haven't had the chance to come to the shop or meet us in person, you'll be happy to know that you can now get to know us a little bit better on our recently published news page, which is a compilation of everything that has been said about us in the press over the last decade or so. Claire and Natalia have been working hard to put together the second edition of the 'Round the World in Banknotes' and we are glad to announce that all the notes of the catalogue are now live on our website. And yes, you've guessed it! We also had new items for you to add to your collection. A 1999 £5 Silver Proof Millennium, a 1944 Sixpence in Choice UNC, a 1994 Silver Proof 'Scottish' Pound and a Charlie Chaplin Crown were just some of the new items published.
The first stock update of 2020 came a little later than we had hoped for, but it did bring with it some amazing items. While one of the most impressive might have been the Victorian Old Head Sovereign, we also had other interesting items such as a 1902 Edward VII Silver Crown, a George V Hafcrown and a Billon Silver Antoninianus, from the rebel emperor Postumus.
The first newsletter sent out to collectors during the month of December 2019. In it were featured a 2004 Gold Half Sovereign, a Constantinople Commemorative Coin issued for the founding of Constantinople. a Singapore Year of the Dragon Mint Set, a United States Silver Eagle from 1988 and 1988 Trivial Pursuit Silver Coin. And because Christmas was just around the corner we decided to give our collectors some Unusual Christmas Gifts ideas.
The 22nd of November marked the anniversary of JFK's assassination and as a form of tribute to the man that many consider to be one of the greatest of the 20th-Century, we presented our collectors with a special anniversary set. In this newsletter, we also featured an NHS 50p, a Tristan da Cunha Nelson Crown, a Japanese Tempo in Gold and a World War I Commemorative Medal.
Coincraft's newsletter that was sent out to our collectors on 20th September. In this newsletter, we announced the creation of two new category pages: Olympic Coins and Pop Culture Coins. We also presented our collectors with a number of very interesting items such as a Complete Date Set of Jubilee Head Crowns, a US Millennium State Quarters Proof Set, Saddam Hussein banknotes amongst many other items!
Every once in awhile we offer our collectors the opportunity to purchase items only available in a limited amount of stock. The first newsletter we send out in September was one of those occasions. This stock update had something for every collector, British Coins and Sets, Confederate Banknotes, 17th Century Tokens, Gold Écus and a good selection of World Coins.
The July stock update had plenty of interesting items, in this newsletter, we presented Large Canadian Cents, Donald Trump Medals, Scarce Roman Coins, a Daina Medallion and even Chernobyl Medal awarded to soldiers, policemen and civilians who handled the fallout from the disaster. The featured item of the month was a complete date set of QEII Sixpences.
In our June newsletter, we presented collectors with an exciting Birds of Prey collection issued in Proof by Malawi in 2010, World Coins from Latvia, Fiji, a commemorative Crown from Gibraltar, an Ancient Indian Elephant Coin and a Challange Coin featuring a colour photograph of Donald Trump.
In May 2019 we brought you a 2019 US Silver Eagle, 10 Kwacha coins from Malawi, featuring endangered and extinct wildlife, a pair of Spanish Civil War Coins, a Geroge VI Shilling, a French 3-coin set and 1000 Dinara from the former Republic of Yugoslavia.
In the first newsletter of Spring 2019, we presented you, our esteemed collectors with some of our bestsellers. Amongst them, a Trafalgar Square Landmark Crownsized £2, an interesting selection of Ancient Greek, Roman, and Byzantine Coins. We also had a 1981 Gold Proof Sovereign and a Donald Trump Medal.
