In 1954, shortly after her Coronation, the Queen visited Australia. They were so delighted that they even struck a coin in her honour. It is a silver florin and was the last commemorative florin the Australia ever struck because in 1966 they went decimal. This silver Florin has the youthful portrait of Queen Elizabeth II on one side and a kangaroo and lion on the other side. This is to symbolize the two countries. I bought a small hoard of these one year type florins in uncirculated condition. When a dealer from Australia was here recently, he said that you almost never see them this nice even in Australia. But my collectors come first and these coins are in Brilliant Uncirculated condition.
