The late Queen Elizabeth II was born 100 years ago in 1926, so this year we celebrate what would have been her 100th birthday. Of course, in those days the coins were struck in silver rather than the cheap base metals they use today. We have spent 2 years trying to put together sets of coins from 1926 and have only managed to locate 50 complete sets. That includes the silver Halfcrown, Florin, Shilling, Sixpence and Threepence plus the bronze Farthing, Halfpenny and Penny. As they are 100 years old, all are in circulated condition, but we have selected the best coins we could find. We have seen one marketing company offering just the silver coins and to be honest We were shocked at just how much they were asking. We guess that is the difference between a marketing company and a coin dealer. Only 50 lucky collectors can have the complete 1926 British Coin set for this low price.
