Uruguay 1965 Set of Three

We don’t often get to offer coins from Uruguay, but this set of 3 coins are all from the one-year only 1965 issue of the peso issued between 1863 and 1975. The 20 and 50 centimo coins are struck in aluminium and the peso comes in aluminium bronze. On the obverse, all 3 have Jose Gervasio Artigas, who is regarded as a national hero after leading the country to independence back in 1828 after years of struggle against Spain which began in 1811.
