The Kingdom of Lan Xan covers what is now Laos and parts of Cambodia and Thailand, and for 4 centuries it was the largest kingdom in south east Asia. These copper or bronze ingots in the shape of a canoe, often known as lat or heua money, came in various sizes and were used as small denomination coinage up until the late 19th century. Although often homemade and without any official production controls, they are now surprisingly hard to find.
