Uncirculated coins of Cyprus are very difficult to find and Cyprus coins of King George VI are especially difficult to find in Uncirculated condition. We recently purchased a small group of George VI 1/2 Piastres dated 1949. This is a multisided coin with what they call a scalloped edge. The coin has the crowned bust of George VI on one side and the value and date on the other side. The coin has original lustre, but of course over the past 67 years the lustre has mellowed just a little. I bought them right and am going to sell them right. You can own one for just £7.95, at this price I think they are wonderful value for money.

Sardinia, 5 Centesimi, Fine

The Kingdom of Sardinia, also referred to as the Kingdom of Sardinia-Piedmont or Piedmont-Sardinia was an independent state for 600 years before the creation of a United Italy in the 1860s. Its territories consisted of the island of Sardinia and a large stretch of north-eastern Italy and the capital was based in Turin. The Sardinian lira was the currency between 1816 and 1861. Here we have a selection of copper 5 centesimi coins in Fine condition struck in 1826 during the reign of King Carlo Felice of the ruling House of Savoy.
