St Pierre et Miquelon, named after St Peter, the patron saint of fishermen, is a self governing overseas territory of France, situated on a tiny archipelago south of Newfoundland. These 10 francs first issued in 1950 are printed in that inimitable French style in pretty pastel shades (P23). A portrait of Jean Baptiste Colbert is on the front alongside three masted ships. Trees, tropical fruit and a pirogue feature on the back. Uncirculated.
