Jaume II was King of Aragon between 1291 and 1327, but he also ruled over territories in Valencia, Sardinia, Corsica and Mallorca. These billon denier coins were struck in Jaca for use in Aragon itself and despite their age are in remarkable condition of medieval hammered coins. On the obverse we see a bust of Jaume II himself, with a double barred cross on the reverse surrounded by the Latin inscription “IACOBUS REX”.
