Royal Bank of Scotland £5 2016 P370 Nan Shepherd Polymer Unc

In 2016, the Bank of Scotland issued its first polymer note. It was a £5 (P130). It was blue and reduced in size from previous paper issues and is known as the Bridge Series. The front has the portrait of Sir Walter Scott alongside a view of the facade of the Bank of Scotland Headquarters on the Mound in Edinburgh while the back features a vignette of the Brig O’Doon, a statue of Robert Burns, and another view of the Bank Headquarters. All our notes bear the very first prefix AA. Uncirculated.

We are delighted to be able to offer the exceptionally attractive Royal Bank of Scotland Polymer £10. It features a portrait of Mary Somerville, a 19th century science writer, astronomer and polymath. She was the joint first female member of the Royal Astronomical Society with Caroline Hirschel. She was also an advocate of women’s rights and the Oxford Somerville College (formerly all female) was named after her. Otters at play make a charming reverse.
