Nawanagar was an old princely state in western India in the Halar region on the Gulf of Kutch, in what is now Gujarat State of modern India. It was created in 1540 by Jam Sri Rawalji, who was descended from the ruling Jadeja family in Kutch. These silver 1 kori are stylised versions of the coins issued by later rulers of Nawanagar of those struck under Muzaffar Shah III (1560-1574) of the Sultanate of Gujarat. These coins are now available in Very Fine condition.
