We offer Crisp AU//Unc examples of the Portrait £10 note issued when J S Fforde was Chief Cashier between 1966 and 1970 (B316) The front features a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II to the right and a vignette of a seated Britannia at the centre. On the back, we find a lion, key in hand and a ribbon trailing from its mouth. This was the highest banknote denomination available until just before Fforde left office.
