Choice example of a scarce replacement note issued when J Q Hollom was Chief Cashier. (B293) They all have the prefix M-N which tells us that not only were they replacements, which meant they replaced notes damaged in production, but they were replacements for a G note. The G note was so called because they were part of an experiment at the Bank of England. Printing was done on a Goebbels machine and the notes were identified by a small G printed on the back. Scarce notes which should feature in any decent Bank of England collection. In AU condition.
