The Naga Dynasty of Nawar ruled parts of north central India between 200 and 340AD, between the fall of the Kushan and the rise of the Gupta empires. Padmavati, which is modern day Pawaya, was the capital of the empire and is located in what is now Madhya Pradesh. These small quarter kakini coins were issued during the reign of Ganapati Naga, who was the 12th and final ruler of the dynasty. The reverse side of the coin has a humpback bull facing left.
