Germany controlled that part of Africa which became known as Tanganyika after the First World War. It became a United Nations Trust territory and then a member of the British Commonwealth in 1961. During World War One and under German rule they had to issue emergency coinage at Tabora. These were crude large sized 20 Heller coins struck in brass with a value on one side and a crowned date (1916) on the other side. We would grade these coins Very Fine considering they were struck under difficult circumstances. An import World War One coin and now difficult to get.
