Wonderful Uncut sheets of the 5000 won issued by North Korea in 1982 (P46) This was the highest denomination issued at the time and features a portrait of Kim Il Sung, the revered first leader of ‘The Hermit Kingdom’ which is rarely visited by Westerners. The back has an illustration of Kim Il Sung’s family compound. These sheets of three 5000 won are in Crisp Uncirculated.
These 100 baisa notes were issued in 1989 (P22) They feature a portrait of Sultan Qaboos bin Said who recently died. In 1970 he usurped his father and was responsible for modernising Oman and ending the country’s international isolation. His portrait appears on the front and an aerial view of Port Qaboos at Muttrah is on the back. Uncirculated at £4.50
