Delving into our vast stock of cheques we came up with some interesting documents from overseas issued in the 20th century. This cheque was issued in Lima Peru. It comes from the Banco del Peru y Londres. Included in the detail were the bank's hours of opening for payment and a blind embossing for 4 centavos which was stamp duty payable. The cheques are denominated in libras peruanos de oro. A vignette of the Bank HQ completes the cheque. Crisp GEF and complete with counterfoil. Limited availability.
These cheques, issued in the 1950’s, were drawn on the Calcutta Branch of the Bank of China. They are quite large with a vignette of a globe with the map of China outlined and Chinese characters below. Interesting evidence of China’s trading presence in India some 60 odd years ago.

We found this large sight draft for issue on El Banco Aleman Transatlantico Lima. (roughly translated as the German Transatlantic Bank Lima) These are denominated in marks (Marcos) and drawn on Berlin. A blind embossed stamp also appears. Complete with counterfoil.
