In the 1990s, the Bank of England unveiled a completely new design for our banknotes. The Queen’s portrait was updated and the backs featured famous Historical figures, George Stephenson on the £5, Charles Dickens on the £10, Michael Faraday on the £20, and the Bank’s first Governor, Sir John Houblon on the £50. To accompany this exciting new series the Bank issued booklets referencing the achievements of those featured as well as bringing alive the various design details found on the notes. We can now offer a bundle of all 4 booklets the Bank of England issued for the Historical Series. A wonderful companion to the notes themselves!
