£5 Entente Cordial Silver Piedfort

In 2004 we celebrated 100 years of our friendship with France. The Mint issued a special commemorative £5 to celebrate the event. It is a friendship that has gone up and down over the years, for instance during Napoleon’s reign… This is a handsome £5 piece with the bodies of Britannia melding with the body of France. They are Piedfort or double the normal thickness Silver Proof. They only made just 2,500 in Piedfort Silver Proof and are now 21 years old and most interesting.
