For those of you who don’t know what a palindrome is, it is a word or series of numbers that reads the same from right to left as it does from left to right. Banknote collectors call serial numbers that read this way, radar notes. The 1991 Proof Set is just such an animal. We can offer this Proof Set in either the blue regular case of issue or the red leather deluxe case of issue, the choice is yours. Each set contains the £1, 50p, 20p, 10p, 5p, 2p and 1p plus the Royal Mint dated medal. Important: the 10p and the 50p were NOT struck for circulation. So if you want either of these coins for your collection you will have to get them from a Royal Mint set. In America, if you had a set with one coin, let alone two coins not struck for circulation, the price would be in the high hundreds if not the low thousands of Pounds…
