Elizabeth II, Deluxe Proof Set, 1991

For those of you who don’t know what a palindrome is, it is a word or series of numbers that reads the same from right to left as it does from left to right. Banknote collectors call serial numbers that read this way, radar notes. The 1991 Proof Set is just such an animal. We can offer this Proof Set in either the blue regular case of issue or the red leather deluxe case of issue, the choice is yours. Each set contains the £1, 50p, 20p, 10p, 5p, 2p and 1p plus the Royal Mint dated medal. Important: the 10p and the 50p were NOT struck for circulation. So if you want either of these coins for your collection you will have to get them from a Royal Mint set. In America if you had a set with one coin, let alone two coins not struck for circulation, the price would be in the high hundreds if not the low thousands of Pounds…

Picture of Canada, Edward VII Large Cent

Canada, Edward VII Large Cent

The Canadian large Cent was only made for three Monarchs, Queen Victoria, Edward VII and George V. After that they went down to a small cent and a few years ago, they stopped making cents completely. We have always had difficulty finding the Edward VII Canadian large cents, but then a parcel came in. The coins are in Very Good – Fine condition and dates will vary, but remember that this series was only made from 1902-1910.

Elizabeth II, 1972 Royal Mint Proof Set

Of all the decimal Proof Sets the 1972 is the most important because none of the coins were issued for circulation, except for the crown that is. That means if you need the 50p, 10p, 5p, 2p, 1p or the 1/2p the only way you can get them is from the Proof Set. Plus of course you also get a Proof cupronickel Crown and the Royal Mint medal of 1972 in the original packaging.
