The Houthis, a military political organisation in Yemen, occupies and governs large swathes of the Northwest of the country, including Yemen’s capital of Sanaa. These 200 rial notes were issued late last year to circulate in the territory controlled by the Houthis. Produced by the Central Bank in Sanaa, the issue was condemned by the Central Bank in Aden who urged the public not to accept them The printing is pretty rudimentary with a view of the Al Janaad Mosque on the frontand a view of the port in Aden on the back.
