William IV, Farthing Very Good

King William IV, also known as the Sailor King, only ruled from 1830-1837. The smallest coin that was regularly issued for circulation was the copper farthing and that was issued for only five years. It is a lot more difficult to get than many collectors and dealers realise. Here we offer King William IV's Farthing in Very Good condition. You have the bare head of the King on the obverse and a seated Britannia on the reverse. We are selling them by type, but the more you order the more different dates we will try and send you. They are almost two hundred years old and this Monarch did not rule for long.

There were two types of King George IV Farthings issued, but they look very similar. There is a bust of the King wearing a laurel wreath and Britannia on the reverse. The 1st type presented here with the more Romanesque bust was issued from 1821-26. We can offer this George IV copper Farthing in Very Good condition, which isn’t too bad considering that the newest one is now 191 years old. United States of America, Barber Dime

Charles Barber was the Chief Engraver at the Philadelphia Mint in the United States. But he was also British and most collectors don’t know that. He designed many coins from the Dime (10c) to the Half Dollar. His coins circulated from 1892 to 1916, when the designs were replaced with others. We have always found that the smallest denomination, the Dime or 10 Cents is difficult to get hold of. The coins have the bust of Liberty on one side and the denomination on the other side. They are struck in 900 fine Silver and the coins on offer are in Very Good condition, especially considering that they are over 100 years old. If you have bought the other denominations, you will certainly want to add this denomination to your collection, but supplies are limited.
