William IV, Farthing Very Good

King William IV, also known as the Sailor King, only ruled from 1830-1837. The smallest coin that was regularly issued for circulation was the copper farthing and that was issued for only five years. It is a lot more difficult to get than many collectors and dealers realise. Here we offer King William IV's Farthing in Very Good condition. You have the bare head of the King on the obverse and a seated Britannia on the reverse. We are selling them by type, but the more you order the more different dates we will try and send you. They are almost two hundred years old and this Monarch did not rule for long.

George IV Farthing Type II VG_obv

George IV, Farthing Type II VG

There were two types of King George IV Farthings issued, but they look very similar. There is a bust of the King wearing a laurel wreath and Britannia on the reverse. The second type presented here had a thinner bust and was issued from 1826-30. We can offer this George IV copper Farthing in Very Good condition, which isn’t too bad considering that the newest one is now 191 years old. Dates will be of our choice, but the more you order the more different dates we will try and give you.

George III, Halfpenny 1806/7 Fair_obv

George III, Halfpenny 1806/7 Fair

We have just bought a group of George III Halfpennies dated 1806 and 1807, the only two dates for which this type was struck. They are well circulated and therefore fairly worn but this is because there were no more copper coins struck for circulation until 1821 and these coins continued circulating well after that. These copper coins were struck at the Soho Mint in Birmingham using the newly invented steam presses invented by Matthew Boulton and James Watt. They have the laureate bust of George III on the obverse with the date below and Britannia seated on the reverse. We can offer them in Fair to suit your budget but we also have both dates available so if you order two then we can supply both dates for your collection.
