The Vijayanagara Empire was a medieval Indian empire that covered much of Southern India and modern day Sri Lanka. These small silver 10 rattis coins were issued during the reigns of Harihara I and Harihara II between 1336 and 1404. On the obverse there is a stylized Sardula lion with a raised paw and dagger, while the reverse has a legend in Devanagari script showing the sun and the moon.
