Victoria 1888 Jubilee Head Shilling Fine

In 1887, Victoria’s Golden Jubilee was celebrated and a new design was finally adopted for her coins. However, the “Jubilee bust” was short lived. For the shillings, it only lasted from 1887 to 1889. The design was seen as being too small, so a larger design was introduced for the Shillings in 1889. Many of these Jubilee Head Shillings were struck in 1887 and kept as keepsakes. Far less were struck in 1888 however, and less still in 1889 where they are Very Rare.
