Upper Canada was created in 1791 mainly as a refuge for American loyalists leaving the newly created United States and it covers most of what is today Southern Ontario. We can offer you halfpenny tokens in Very Fine condition minted in 1852, by close to this time, the whole of Canada was about to introduce its own decimal dollar. The coins themselves are struck in copper and show St George slaying the dragon on the obverse, with the coat of arms of Upper Canada on the reverse.
