St Helena £20 nd(1986) P10 Unc

Issued in 1986, this was the first £20 note ever issued by the remote British Overseas Territory of St Helena (P10a) All our examples have the prefix A/1. This is the highest denomination ever issued for this nearly inaccessible location and represented a lot of money at the time it was issued. Queen Elizabeth II is shown at right next to a view of Jamestown Harbour, while the back shows the Coat of Arms for the East India Company with the Latin motto ‘Auspicio Regis Senatus Angliae’ meaning By right of the King and Senate of England.
