Elizabeth II, Machin Decimal Sovereign Brilliant Uncirculated

Queen Elizabeth II came to the throne in 1952 and since then there have been five different busts of her on the Gold Sovereign. A gold sovereign is struck in 22ct gold and weighs about 8 grams. No gold coins were struck for ‘circulation’ until 1957. The bust design offered here is the slightly more mature Young Head by Arnold Machin. Her Majesty is our longest serving Monarch and she is entitled to have the design of her bust changed as she matures with age. All of the coins are struck in 22ct gold all are in Brilliant Uncirculated. Dates will be of our choice.

Elizabeth II, Sovereign 1957 Brilliant Unc

The 1957 Queen Elizabeth II Sovereign is something very special. It was the first Elizabeth II gold sovereign that the public was allowed to buy. The milling on the edge is fine while all other issues have coarser milling. So it is a true one-year type coin. It was issued by the Bank of England although struck by the Royal Mint, so it was subject to a 44% dollar premium. Thus it was the most expensive Sovereign issued at the time, you paid less for a Victorian Sovereign. Because you paid 44% extra in taxes on this QEII Sovereign. Why pay £999 or even £750 why not buy one from Coincraft – Britain’s Coin Shop for only £595? Why not save yourself £404? You are getting an original 1957 Gold Sovereign in Brilliant Uncirculated condition for only £595. This little hoard is very limited and it is being sold on a first-come-first-served basis. At Coincraft, if we buy right, you buy right! Supplies are limited.
