Southern Rhodesia 1953 Crown Uncirculated

In 1953, the Royal Mint struck these Crowns for Southern Rhodesia, now Zimbabwe, to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the birth of Cecil Rhodes, after whom Rhodesia was named. They are struck in .500 silver and have the bust of Cecil John Rhodes, the Prime Minister of the Cape Colony, on the reverse and three shields for each colony developed by Rhodes, representing (from left to right) Northern Rhodesia, Southern Rhodesia, and Nyasaland. The youthful bust of Elizabeth II is on the obverse. Not easy to find these days.
