Somaliland self declared its independence in 1991 but has yet to gain official recognition from the UN. It occupies a vast area of 68,000 square miles on the Horn of Africa with a population of 6.2 million as of 2024. This quartet of notes is dated between 1994 and 2016, The set comprises the 5.50.100 and 500 shillings values. The lower denominations feature a view of the Supreme Court building on the front while the top two values feature the Bank of Somaliland building. The backs feature camels and the loading of live sheep on the Berbera dock. Crisp Uncirculated quartet.
