A set of 3 aluminium National Transport Tokens from the 1980’s, depicting the values of the tokens. These were used instead of regular currency when paying for public transport and were often purchased in bulk by local authorities or welfare organisations to off er concessionary fare tokens to certain groups of people such as children or the elderly and could be used on most public transport services. Before the scheme closed, tokens were available in denominations of 2p, 3p, 5p, 10p, 20p, 50p and £1. This set consists of three more basic National Transport Tokens of 3p, 5p and 10p denominations.
