So much metal was used during the Second World War in Germany, that, post war, there was not enough metal for the coins needed. Coins remained in short supply right through to the 1960’s when the Federal Republic, formed after the war, prepared Bundeskassenschein or small change notes to overcome the problem. They were prepared in 1967 but were never issued. eventually being ordered destroyed . Some escaped the destruction process and they are regarded as scarce. They were small, simple aff airs refl ecting their value as small change notes. From this fascinating series, we are off ering two diff erent values – the 10 pfennig (P26) and the 2 mark (P29) Both are in Uncirculated condition.
