Fred Goodwin was the infamous head of the Royal Bank of Scotland, held responsible for the demise of the bank during the banking crisis of 2008. So much so his knighthood was withdrawn. These £5 notes, dated 2005, are amongst the last to bear his signature (P353d) The very last prefix is B/96 and these are just one away with the prefix B/95. The front has a portrait of Lord Ilay, first Governor of the Bank with a rendition of Culzean Castle on the back, Crisp Uncirculated.
