In 1996, Peru had a series of pattern crowns, or 20 New Soles, made for the Olympics held in Atlanta, Georgia. Unfortunately they arrived too late to be struck for the Olympics, so they only exists as patterns. They have a mintage of between 10 and 100 pieces of each, but none ever made it to Peru. We know, as a dealer in Peru is always interested in buying whatever pieces I take to the coin fair. We have listed one of the rarest and most interesting pieces we have, the Pattern 20 Soles 1996, Running, Type 3 reverse in Aluminum Proof with a milled edge. The mintage is just 100 just pieces.
