The Siglos coin, widely used from the reign of Artaxerxes I (465–424 BC) through to Darius III (336–330 BC), was an important silver coinage in the Achaemenid Persian Empire. Typically, the obverse of the Siglos depicts the king or a royal warrior in a running or kneeling pose, equipped with a bow and dagger, symbolizing both protection and imperial strength. The reverse side is usually blank or bears a simple punch mark. Siglos coins facilitated trade and consolidated the empire’s economy across its vast regions, circulating Persian royal imagery throughout diverse cultures and reinforcing the emperor’s influence and authority. We have just acquired a group of these Siglos coming in Fine Grade. PLEASE NOTE: PHOTOGRAPHY IS REPRESENTATIVE OF THE COIN SUPPLIED
