The numismatics term for the week is "Off-centre". A coin which is imperfectly struck so that part of the design is missing, as a result of careless minting procedures. In the case of hammered coins, such as those of Henry I and Stephen, they were met with very frequently. Off-centred coins are generally of less value than well-centred ones, even when the condition is other wish excellent.
