Olav V, who was born a Prince of Denmark, reigned as King of Norway from 1957 until his death in 1991. He was popular for his down to earth style and for his leadership as Crown Prince in exile during World War 2. These 6 coins were all struck for circulation during his 34-year reign. Three of them bear his personal cypher of a capital O with a V topped with a crown, while the 50 ore and 1 krone show a bust of the king facing left.
