The National Bank of Scotland was founded in 1825 and operated until 1959 when it merged with the Commercial Bank of Scotland. These £1 notes on offer now are dated in the1940’s and 1950’s (P258) The design is vibrant with the Bank’s Arms top centre and vignettes of Glasgow Cathedral and Holyroodhouse to the left and right.
