Lima Coinage

Coins issued in 1745 and 1746 by George II from silver captured by Anson from the Spanish. It is thought by some that the silver had originally come from Lima, Peru and it was George II's way of thumbing his nose at the Spanish by placing the name Lima below his bust on the coins.
