Japan 1 Yen Nd (1946) P85/TBB349 Crisp Unc

We offer a pair of 1 yen notes issued between 1944 and 1946. The first, issued between 1944 and 1945, has a man depicted at the centre while the back features steps to an entrance set within a frame. They grade Uncirculated but have a very slight stain where they were badly stored in the intervening years. They are priced accordingly at just £11.50 (Usually £21.50 if perfect) . The second 1 yen note was issued in Japan in the immediate aftermath of the Second World War in 1946 (P85) They are fairly simple affairs with a portrait of Ninomiya Sintoku on the front. He was a prominent 19th century philosopher, economist and agricultural leader. A cockerel is also shown below. Crisp Uncirculated.
