When JB Page was Chief Cashier at the Bank of England notes appeared with his signature on both the Portrait and the Pictorial series. In the Portrait series, there are two different varieties of the Replacement Portrait £1 note. These were notes included in bundles after damaged notes were removed and which can be identified by their prefix which includes the letter M. (These replacement notes are necessarily scarcer than the regular issues). The most common of Portrait Replacement £1 notes signed by Page have the catalogue reference B323. Far scarcer are the variety we have on offer now.
