Italy, 1 Lire 1940 Extremely Fine

It happened in 1940 that Mussolini declared war on Great Britain; he sided with Hitler and the Japanese and decided he was going to win and take us over. We guess he didn’t win. On this large nickel coin, you have the head of Victor Emanuele III and on the other side, you have an eagle with his wings full spread and an axe behind him. You just don’t get many coins from Italy issued during World War II, especially from the year they declared war on us. We shan’t make jokes about the Italian armed forces, after all, a lot of people died in the battles with them. The coin is large and in Extremely Fine condition and we think it was a fantastic find. We are going to use them in our World War II Remembered Collection that will be coming out later this year. This coin is too important to wait for it, you can own it now.

Russia, South Russia 10,000 Roubles 1919 PS425 Fine

In the immediate aftermath of the Russian Revolution, there were many different issues of banknotes before a unified currency was introduced in the early 1920’s. These 10,000 rouble notes dated 1919 were issued in South Russia (PS425) Like many of the notes at the time, they are fairly crude and poorly printed affairs. We are delighted to offer this 10,000 rouble note here in Fine (F) condition.

United States of America, Silver Mercury Dime 1930s

One of our most popular American coins is the Mercury Dime, but usually we only have them from the 1940’s or War Time. We bought a large group of these 900 fine Silver coins in and they have been sorted by date. We have come up with a much smaller group of coins dated in the 1930’s, from 1930-1939. Why are they more difficult to get? Because the 1930’s was the time of the Great Depression and money was far more important and could buy a heck of a lot more in those days. The coins have a portrait of the god Mercury on one side and a fasces on the other side. All coins will be in Fine condition and dates and mint marks will be of our choice. But the more you order the more different dates and mint marks we will try and give you.
