Isle of Man 1979 £1. Uncirculated

Between 1978 and 1982 the Isle of Man issued its own pound coins, which unlike other coins circulating on the island, were very different from those in the United Kingdom. The smaller, thinner pound was never popular and islanders preferred the £1 note which continued to circulate. It was only in 1983, when the UK replaced the pound note with a coin, that the Isle of Man withdrew its own pounds and approved ones with the same specifi cations. We are offering these 1979 pounds in Uncirculated condition, which have the triskelion symbol over a map of the island.
