We offer Crisp Uncirculated examples of the 1000 kronur notes first issued by Iceland in 2001. (P59). A portrait of Brynjolfur Sveinsson appears on the front. He was a 17th century Lutheran bishop, famous for his knowledge of Old Norse literature. A view of Brynjoliskirkja in Skalhot appears on the back alongside a Madonna and Child depiction on a gold ring belonging to Sveinsson.
