Notgeld were small change notes issued to overcome a shortage of coinage. They were often issued by entities other than the government in Germany. This set of 5 Crisp uncirculated notgeld are dated 1917 and were issued by the H Heye Glass Factory in Schauenstein and Obernkirchen. This fi rm is still a leader in the manufacture of glass today. When they were issued they were produced to actually circulate and not with collectors in mind which is why their condition is exceptional. Values in the set range from the 1 pfennig through to the 25 pfennig. All are Crisp Uncirculated. Limited availability. A wonderful early Notgeld set.
