There may not be many of you that remember 1938, but George VI was in the second year of his reign, Hitler had torn the Treaty of Versailles to shreds and was in the process of redrawing the map of Europe …. World War II was on the horizon. Meanwhile, back in Blighty, everyone had just set aside their 1937 dated coins to celebrate the new King’s Coronation, but coins of 1938 were overlooked and struck in lower numbers. As a result, coins of 1938 have become far more difficult to find in higher than those of 1937. We offer them in brilliant Uncirculated Condition and are 87 years old and struck just before WWII.
