British coins have been known for about 1,000 for being struck in good silver, that was until in 1946. Because of the expense of our taking part in World War Two, in 1947 the Royal Mint ceased using any silver in our coins. So this 1946 Florin is very important. It is the last silver Florin ever to be struck, the Florin is the most difficult denomination to get and third and last the coins on offer are in Uncirculated condition. Historically a Very Important coin. Try fi nding one elsewhere you will fi nd it very difficult.
