Copper Pennies of George IV were only struck for three years, from 1825 to 1827, and feature dies engraved by master engraver William Wyon. These pennies were a crucial part of everyday trade in the 19th century and saw extensive circulation until their withdrawal following the introduction of the bronze pennies in 1860.
