George III Roman Head Halfcrown Very Good

Because of King George III’s illness many of his coins were not made until The Currency Reform Act of 1816 changed all that. In 1816 they made the first George III halfcrown and that design was known as the ‘bull head’ type. The King hated it and in 1817 it was discontinued and replaced with the ‘Roman head’ type. We think the bull head type is more impressive, but then again we weren't the King and he made his choice. The coins are struck in Sterling Silver and are the first halfcrowns of the new coinage series. We off er both the bull head and the Roman bust George III halfcrowns in Very Good condition. Yes they have seen some usage, but they are now over 200 years old and a true and most interesting antique
