George III, Jersey, Dollar (Bank of England Emergency Issue) 1808 Patinas
These George III Patina issues were made for Jersey and are retro-dated 1808. They are modelled on the Bank of England Dollar emergency issue of 1804. These Patina pieces are slightly larger than a regular crown. You have the King dressed as a Roman Emperor on the obverse. The reverse reads ‘States of Jersey 1808’ with a shield with 3 lions. We have this handsome piece in two metals, Proof Pewter, it sure looks like silver and Prooflike golden alloy. Supplies are very limited and anything for Jersey from this series is Rare.
